With a pioneering vision in mind, the organization believed in the promising aspects of the region and in 1985 inaugurated the five star hotel with 200 rooms and 10 convention rooms.
The best testament to its success is that in 1993, after 8 years in operation, the Hotel had doubled its size, offering 400 rooms (385 rooms and 11 suites, one of which being the presidential suite). In 1996 it became the first five star hotel in Brazil to earn the ISO certification. Currently the Hotel Transamérica has ISO 9001/2008 certification.
